The Cleveland Orchestra is seeking an experienced communications professional to join its team as Development Communications Manager. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Manager is responsible for the creation of department communications material including proposals, campaign communication materials, newsletters, and development related content on The Cleveland Orchestra?s website. The Manager will ensure that consistent and compelling fundraising messages are produced in a timely and cost-effective manner, are targeted for specific audiences, and are of a quality commensurate with the world-class stature of The Cleveland Orchestra. This individual will write and produce major communications for both internal and external constituencies and will prepare highly individualized solicitation proposals, reports to funders, specialized acknowledgement letters and similar communications for both individual and institutional prospects and donors.
Bachelor?s Degree in English, Communications, or related field with 3-5 years prior similar experience; superior written communication skills, including editing experience; working knowledge of professional development practices with a firm understanding of the donor engagement, solicitation & stewardship process; knowledge/ use of the website as a communication tool-website design and experience desirable; demonstrated above average proficiency with computer software programs, including the Microsoft Office Suite, and highly adept at use of advanced functions including creation of charts, graphics, complex presentations.
