Why Market Your Business Online? | New Wave Web and Marketing

Adults are spending more and more time on the Internet ? many of them searching for information, advice, goods, and services and looking to connect with others in their community. This means that the obvious choice for businesses is to take their marketing efforts online. Online marketing can benefit your company or business in ways traditional marketing would not.

Don?t know where to start? Below are five steps that can get your business in the right direction:

1. Build a Website. This may be the most obvious step. After all, you can?t have an internet presence if you?re not online. You can either set up your own website or hire an established company to set it up for you. The website needs to have easily navigated layouts, be filled with useful and interesting information and be free of junk or unhelpful things. Avoid using anything that will discourage a customer from lingering; this is one time when some upfront paid advice from a web designer can be well worth it and will pay itself back in no time.

2. Make your Website SEO Friendly.?The idea of search engine optimization (SEO) is to write your website?s copy (the content) in such a way that your site will appear high on the results pages of the major search engines (i.e. Google and Bing) when users perform specific keyword searches. The higher up on the results page, the more likely a user will click on your website.

3. Use PPC Advertising. Online pay per click (PPC) advertising has a large reach and is the way many sites thrive or even survive online. You can set a price that you would be willing to pay every time someone clicks on an ad that you write. You only have to pay this when someone clicks on your ad. If no one clicks on your ad, you do not have to pay. These ad formats allow you to set up a daily advertising budget and you have the freedom to cancel and restart your ads any time you want.

4. Use Blogs and Forums to your Advantage. Blogging is another way to drive qualified traffic to your website and boost your site?s ranking in the search engines and it is a great?way to help promote your business or services ? especially if you can show yourself as an expert and as someone who genuinely wants to help resolve user?s problems. Often you can do this for free. However, this option has one huge caveat??be sure to post in forums that are website promotion friendly if you intend on using your URL or emblazoning the post with your business details. In many cases, simply stating that you?re the founder/owner/director/community manager, etc. of a certain site can be sufficient to alert people to the good your company is doing online. Let them do the rest of the adding up and finding of you??consumers are intelligent.

5. Participate in Social Media. If your business does not have a Facebook ?account, get one as asoon as possible. And make sure it is optimized to get the most from it. For Facebook, you can use ads, updates and Fan pages to keep fans posted on your business happenings.?As a business, just be careful to get your business a Facebook Page and not a Profile; profiles are for individual people only and they are limited in what you can do as a business. Once you have created your page, keep updates relevant and interesting ? you want users to be engaged in and share your content.?And it doesn?t just stop there ? you can continue onto Twitter, Google +, and LinkedIn. (Hint: these are great places to share information from your website, blog posts, and forums).?Creating a coordinated social media and website traffic-building strategy for your business is a big task, and you can hire professionals to help.

Astrophile: Split personality tarnishes pulsars' rep

Astrophile is our weekly column on curious cosmic objects, from the solar system to the far reaches of the multiverse

Object: Pulsar (pulsing star)
Behaviour: Erratic

A split personality can be disturbing, especially when it affects someone you least expected it to. Now it seems stars, too, can have disturbingly fractured personas. The discovery of the first pulsar that shines at different frequencies at different times is tarnishing the reputation of this class of pulsing dead star. Until now, pulsars have been relied upon as cosmic timekeepers, but perhaps we can't take their regularity for granted any longer.

We had thought of pulsars ? the dense remnants of exploded stars ? as emitting radio waves, X-rays or gamma rays in bursts of such regularity that you could practically set your watch by them. Pulsars are spinning neutron stars, with strong magnetic fields that emit beams of radiation from their poles. The poles are offset from the axis of rotation ? just as the magnetic poles on Earth do not line up with true north and south. This offset means the beams sweep around like a lighthouse as the pulsar rotates, giving the star's radiation a distinctive pulse when viewed from a distance.

Individual pulsars can emit radiation at a range of frequencies, from radio waves to gamma rays, and some radio pulsars have been seen to dim or even stop broadcasting all together. That finding had previously cast some doubt on pulsars' otherwise impeccable reputation for dependability.

The latest discovery takes that to a new level, though. When Wim Hermsen of the Netherlands Institute for Space Research in Utrecht and colleagues took the first simultaneous measurements of both the radio and gamma radiation from B0943+10, a pulsar known to emit at both frequencies, they got a shock.

Radio flip

Rather than shining continuously as the team expected, B0943+10 flips at the drop of a hat, toning down its radio emissions for a few hours while pumping out extra X-rays, before switching back as if nothing had happened ? a totally new type of pulsar behaviour. "This variability has never been seen before," says Hermsen.

The pulsar's first personality is similar to that of its more stable siblings. In this mode, the pulsar emits a beam of radio waves from its pole and rotates every 1.1 seconds, while also emitting low-level background X-rays in every direction.

Every few hours though ? exactly when seems random ? the pulsar switches to its second personality. The main radio beam strength halves, though its timing remains the same, and is accompanied by another, even weaker radio signal just before the main pulse. Meanwhile the X-ray output doubles and pulses in time with the star's spin. Some time later, it switches back.

Astronomers already disagree over whether pulsar emissions are created by annihilation of particles close to the surface or further out but still within the pulsar's magnetic field. B0943+10's quirks throw a further spanner in the works because they don't fit either picture. What could be going on?

Cosmic act

One explanation is that what looks a radio-to-X-ray pulsar personality transplant is actually just an act. The object basically remains a radio pulsar, but whenever the radio beam halves in strength, the pulsar's magnetic field switches on a second radio beam in a different direction, which does not sweep past Earth.

In this scenario, the second radio beam is accompanied by increased X-ray emissions. Since they are produced in all directions, they are visible from Earth. If that's true, it would be rather like ascribing a friend's odd behaviour to a personality problem ? only to discover that there was in fact an explanation for the behaviour that was consistent with the person as you normally think of them.

Even this explanation raises obvious questions, such as why a second radio beam is triggered and how that boosts the pulsar's X-ray emissions. That's a problem, given that pulsars are used to search for the effects of gravitational waves - these ripples in spacetime should change pulsars' apparent frequency - and have even been touted as replacing satellites in a kind of GPS for deep space. "Whatever is creating this beam in one mode stops in the other mode, and for that you need something drastic," says Hermsen. "None of the known models can explain it."

GLAAD protests Nat Geo's collaboration with Boy Scouts

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - The advocacy group backed a Change.org petition started by Will Oliver, a 20-year-old gay Eagle Scout, that calls on Nat Geo to air a disclaimer clarifying the network's views before each episode of its new series, "Are You Tougher than a Boy Scout." It debuts this spring.

"That National Geographic would brush aside countless gay teens suffering at the hands of the BSA, shrugging off injustice as just another ?point of view,' is irresponsible," GLAAD president Herndon Graddick said in a statement. "By airing this program, National Geographic is providing support and publicity to an organization that harms young people simply because of who they are. If the network is truly committed to standing by its non-discrimination practices, it should have no problem airing a disclaimer to that effect."

Nat Geo did not immediately respond to calls from TheWrap requesting comment.

But in a statement to GLAAD, the network said the show has "nothing to do with this debate" over the Boy Scouts' LGBT policies.

"As it relates to our upcoming show with the Boy Scouts, we certainly appreciate all points of view on the topic," Nat Geo said in the statement, "but when people see our show they will realize it has nothing to do with this debate, and is in fact a competition series between individual scouts and civilians."

GLADD pointed to the Boy Scouts' October 2012 Progress Report of its National Council Strategic Plan 2011-2015. It cites the Nat Geo series as a "strategic partnership" aimed at promoting the idea that "scouting is ?cool' with youth."

The report states that the Scouts will begin working on marketing plans with National Geographic for "leveraging the show with Scouting audiences and audiences outside of scouting."

"It's all too clear that this show is just a marketing ploy, crafted by the BSA to boost dwindling membership and distract Americans from the Scouts' long history of discrimination," Graddick said. "National Geographic Channel is the means to that end and must therefore make it clear where the network stands."

Te'o mentioned 'girlfriend' twice recently

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -- Not once but twice after he supposedly discovered his online girlfriend of three years never even existed, Notre Dame All-American linebacker Manti Te'o perpetuated the heartbreaking story about her death.

An Associated Press review of news coverage found that the Heisman Trophy runner-up talked about his doomed love in a Web interview on Dec. 8 and again in a newspaper interview published Dec. 10. He and the university said Wednesday that he learned on Dec. 6 that it was all a hoax, that not only wasn't she dead, she wasn't real.

On Thursday, a day after Te'o's inspiring, playing-through-heartache story was exposed as a bizarre lie, Te'o and Notre Dame faced questions from sports writers and fans about whether he really was duped, as he claimed, or whether he and the university were complicit in the hoax and misled the public, perhaps to improve his chances of winning the Heisman.

Yahoo sports columnist Dan Wetzel said the case has ''left everyone wondering whether this was really the case of a naive football player done wrong by friends or a fabrication that has yet to play to its conclusion.''

Gregg Doyel, national columnist for CBSSports.com, was more direct.

''Nothing about this story has been comprehensible, or logical, and that extends to what happens next,'' he wrote. ''I cannot comprehend Manti Te'o saying anything that could make me believe he was a victim.''

On Wednesday, Te'o and Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick said the player was drawn into a virtual romance with a woman who used the phony name Lennay Kekua, and was fooled into believing she died of leukemia in September. They said his only contact with the woman was via the Internet and telephone.

Te'o also lost his grandmother - for real - the same day his girlfriend supposedly died, and his role in leading Notre Dame to its best season in decades endeared him to fans and put him at the center of college football's biggest feel-good story of the year.

Relying on information provided by Te'o's family members, the South Bend Tribune reported in October that Te'o and Kekua first met, in person, in 2009, and that the two had also gotten together in Hawaii, where Te'o grew up.

Sports Illustrated posted a previously unpublished transcript of a one-on-one interview with Te'o from Sept. 23. In it, he goes into great detail about his relationship with Kekua and her physical ailments. He also mentioned meeting her for the first time after a game in California.

''We met just, ummmm, just she knew my cousin. And kind of saw me there so. Just kind of regular,'' he told SI.

Among the outstanding questions Thursday: Why didn't Te'o ever clarify the nature of his relationship as the story took on a life of its own?

Te'o's agent, Tom Condon, said the athlete had no plans to make any public statements Thursday in Bradenton, Fla., where he has been training with other NFL hopefuls at the IMG Academy.

Notre Dame said Te'o found out that Kekua was not a real person through a phone call he received at an awards ceremony in Orlando, Fla., on Dec. 6. He told Notre Dame coaches about the situation on Dec. 26.

The AP's media review turned up two instances during that gap when the football star mentioned Kekua in public.

Te'o was in New York for the Heisman presentation on Dec. 8 and, during an interview before the ceremony that ran on the WSBT.com, the website for a South Bend TV station, Te'o said: ''I mean, I don't like cancer at all. I lost both my grandparents and my girlfriend to cancer. So I've really tried to go to children's hospitals and see, you know, children.''

In a column that first ran in The Los Angeles Times, on Dec. 10, Te'o recounted why he played a few days after he found out Kekua died in September, and the day she was supposedly buried.

''She made me promise, when it happened, that I would stay and play,'' he said on Dec. 9 while attending a ceremony in Newport Beach, Calif., for the Lott Impact Awards.

On Wednesday, when Deadspin.com broke the story, Swarbrick said Notre Dame did not go public with its findings sooner because it expected the Te'o family to come forward first.

Asked if the NCAA was monitoring the Te'o story for possible rules violations, NCAA President Mark Emmert said:

''We don't know anything more than you do,'' he told reporters at the organization's convention in Dallas. ''We're learning about this through the stories just the same as you are. But we have to wait and see what really transpired there. It's obviously (a) very disturbing story and it's hard to tell where the facts lie at this point.

''But Notre Dame is obviously looking into it and there will be a lot more to come forward. Right now, it just looks ... well, we don't know what the facts are, so I shouldn't comment beyond that.''

Reporters were turned away at the main gate of IMG's sprawling, secure complex. Te'o remained on the grounds, said a person familiar with situation who spoke on condition of anonymity because neither Te'o nor IMG authorized the release of the information.

''This whole thing is so nutsy that I believe it only could have happened at Notre Dame, where mythology trumps common sense on a daily basis. ... Given the choice between reality and fiction, Notre Dame always will choose fiction,'' sports writer Rick Telander said in the Chicago Sun-Times.

''Which brings me to what I believe is the real reason Te'o and apparently his father, at least went along with this scheme: the Heisman Trophy.

Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass blasted both Te'o and Notre Dame.

''When your girlfriend dying of leukemia after suffering a car crash tells you she loves you, even if it might help you win the Heisman Trophy, you check it out,'' he said.

He said the university's failure to call a news conference and go public sooner means ''Notre Dame is complicit in the lie.''

''The school fell in love with the Te'o girlfriend myth,'' he wrote.

Brent slips below $111 as investors book profit after steep rise

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Brent crude slipped below $111 a barrel on Friday as a steep rise in the previous session gave investors an opportunity to sell and book profits, while a rebound in China's growth helped stem further losses.

The world's second-largest economy grew 7.9 percent in the fourth quarter of last year from a year earlier, beating forecasts of a 7.8 percent expansion. In the United States, the number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment aid hit a five-year low and residential construction surged in the latest sign that the U.S. economic recovery remains on track.

Front-month Brent slipped 15 cents to $110.95 a barrel by 0247 GMT, after settling $1.42 higher. U.S. oil declined 34 cents to $95.15, ending up $1.25 and touching an intraday peak of $96.04, the highest since September 19.

"We saw oil move up yesterday, with the U.S. contract rising above $95 for the first time since September, and that is triggering some profit-taking selling," said Ken Hasegawa, a commodity sales manager at Newedge Japan.

"Fundamentally, the market is well balanced, but more positive economic data will push up the market."

Hasegawa expects the U.S. benchmark to trade between $96 and $94 a barrel on Friday and the European contract in a range of $112 to $110. For next week, he expects U.S. oil to trade around $98 to $92 and Brent between $115 and $109.

China's fourth-quarter bounce from 7.4 percent in the third quarter -- its lowest since the depths of the global financial crisis -- left full year growth at 7.8 percent, making 2012 the weakest year of economic expansion since 1999.

Other data released alongside GDP showed industrial output grew 10.3 percent in December from a year ago, versus expectations of 10.1 percent.

These numbers followed data from the United States that gave investors confidence the world's largest oil consumer is weathering an uncertain fiscal environment surprisingly well.

Brent is expected to retest a resistance at $111.37, with a good chance of breaking this level and rising further to $111.82, according to Reuters technical analyst Wang Tao.

Cardinals select Colts' Arians as new head coach

Bruce Arians has accepted the Cardinals' offer to be their next coach, CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman has confirmed.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that it's a four-year deal with an option for a fifth.

Arians succeeds Ken Whisenhunt, who was Arizona's coach from 2007-2012 and led the team to the Super Bowl after the 2008 season. But Whisenhunt never could find a quarterback to replace Kurt Warner, who retired after the 2009 season, and that ultimately cost him his job. Whisenhunt wasn't out of work long; he was hired as the Chargers' offensive coordinator earlier this week.

On Thursday, after meeting with the Cardinals but before he was offered the job, Arians spoke to the media.

?I have a pretty good job sitting back in Indianapolis,? he said via AZCentral.com. ?Do I want to be a head coach? Definitely. But just to be one? No. ?

?I told my agent early, when he was setting up interviews, ?I'm going to have to have a heck of a feeling about that organization, owner, general manager, team, to leave where I am right now.'"

And did Arians get that feeling about the Cardinals?

"Yes, I do," he responded.

Turns out, he wasn't kidding.

Now Arians' first order of business is to find a quarterback. He's had some success working with them (Peyton Manning in 1998, Ben Roethlisberger from 2007-2011, and Andrew Luck in 2012), but he'll have his work cut out for him in Arizona. He'll have to decide if Kevin Kolb, John Skelton, Ryan Lindley or Brian Hoyer are realistic options at the position, or if the Cardinals will have to go outside the organization to find their next legitimate franchise quarterback.

On the other side of the ball, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports that Arians is exploring options for a new defensive coordinator, and, according to league sources, is high of Eagles coordinator Todd Bowles.

Incumbent defensive coordinator Ray Horton, who was considered for the Cards head coaching job, has let the organization know he would like to explore other options as well, sources told La Canfora. Bowles has several years left on his deal with the Eagles but with Chip Kelly hired as the new coach, several league sources expect the Eagles to move on from Bowles.

If Horton is let go from the Cardinals, league sources said the Browns would have significant interest.

How to Make Money with Online Movies without Violating Copyright ...

BlankBackground.jpg

People just love watching movies. What with the latest blockbuster hit Avatar sinking Titanic in terms of gross revenue. With that said, it is indeed a profitable venture to engage in movie-related businesses on the internet. It is no surprise that people are constantly asking for tips and step-by-step procedures on how to make money with online movies. How does it work? Many people have asked the same question before. But just like any other entrepreneur, you might want to give your business the benefit of exclusivity. It might be a better idea to incorporate your own thoughts into this venture. Nevertheless, let me lay down a couple of basics in starting up a venture with regards online movies. If you go for mass distribution and public exposition then the movie companies might just start running after you. And no businessman would want to be labeled as a ?copyright infringer on the loose.? There?s just so much that you can do with online movies without infringing the movi e companies? copyright. How is this done?1. Offer movie trailers and link them to movie dealersPartnerships are relatively commonplace in the business world. If you have what it takes to partner with a movie dealer then you might want to turn it into a profit-generating activity. Find out what movies are in demand as of the moment. Set up your movies website, generate traffic, and provide good content (i.e. movie trailers, a brief summary, cast and crew). This may be something similar to imdb.com. That way, you could boost the sales of the movie dealer and earn yourself a commission. That?s how to make money with online movies without violating copyright.2. Sell movie merchandise onlineThis is one of the most profitable ventures in line with showing new movies. If the characters are all copyrighted figures than you might not want to mess up with the corporate attorneys just for a couple of bucks. You?ll lose them anyway if they demand that you pay them back for damages and c opyright infringement. So the best way to deal with this problem is to find a registered merchandise dealer, find interesting and useful items that people will certainly like (i.e. coffee mugs, lunch box for the kids, planners, etc.) and buy it in bulk. Bulk buying will surely get you a discount. Then you could sell it online with a few bucks on top of the basic price.3. Sell movie tickets onlineThere?s just too much commercial opportunity in selling movie tickets online. Especially if the movie is a well anticipated one and ranks high in movie surveys, you might want to try it out. Get in touch with a bulk ticket seller such as your friendly next door movie house. Find out how much discount you can get by buying in bulk or ask them if you can get a commission for selling the tickets. It may sound like your high school summer job, but it?s better to earn this way than to become penniless or dependent on your monthly allowance.

Lawyer questions memory of Philadelphia accuser

(AP) ? A longtime heroin addict whose complaint helped imprison a Philadelphia archdiocese official came under attack Wednesday, as jurors in a priest-abuse trial learned that he had given three different locations for one alleged rape.

Defense lawyers questioning the gaunt, 24-year-old policeman's son poked several holes in his accounts, some of which he attributed to years of heavy drug use.

The man said he as "semi-comatose ... but standing" when he first spoke with a church investigator in 2009.

The witness, with prompting from a counselor, had called the archdiocese from a drug clinic, ultimately reporting that two Roman Catholic priests and ex-teacher Bernard Shero had sexually assaulted him in about 1999.

Shero, 49, of Levittown, and the Rev. Charles Engelhardt, 66, of Wyndmoor, are on trial, fighting the charges. Now-defrocked priest Edward Avery is in prison after pleading guilty.

During cross-examination Wednesday, Shero's lawyer said the accuser has said over the years that the teacher raped him in his sixth-grade classroom, near a trash bin outside an apartment complex and in the parking lot of a city park.

The accuser explained that he was high when he spoke to the church investigator in a car outside his parents' house, and doesn't remember much of the conversation. His drug habit at times reached 15 to 20 bags of heroin a day, the young man acknowledged.

"You have a very clear memory of what happened when you were 10 years old, but you don't remember what happened in the car in 2009?" asked Engelhardt's lawyer, Michael McGovern.

The abuse allegedly started with Engelhardt in fifth grade, and continued that year with Avery. Avery raped him in the sacristy after Mass when he was a 10-year-old member of the church's bell-maintenance crew, the witness said.

But under cross-examination, McGovern said the school only allowed eighth-grade boys to join the bell crew. The witness said that surprised him.

The man's complaint led to last year's landmark child-endangerment conviction of the Rev. William Lynn, who oversaw priest assignments at the Archdiocese of Philadelphia from 1992 to 2004. Lynn acknowledged that he sent Avery to St. Jerome's Parish in northeast Philadelphia even though Avery had admitted to an earlier abuse complaint. Lynn, 62, is serving a three- to six-year prison term for felony child endangerment.

Avery, serving 2 1/2 to five years, is expected to testify for the prosecution Thursday. He would be the first admitted priest-pedophile to testify in open court during the 11-year investigation of church abuse within the Philadelphia archdiocese.

The accuser also has sued the archdiocese. Observers watching the trial this week include his civil lawyer, a juror from the Lynn trial and the father of a young man who committed suicide after filing a priest-abuse lawsuit against the church.

The accuser was asked Wednesday how much money he hopes to win.

"No money would make this better. I'm not doing this for a dollar," he said. "They told me ... it would put a stop to it."

Defense lawyers attacked other details from his statements, such as one account in which he said he was raped at church for hours without anyone finding them.

They also elicited emotional comments about the death of his grandmother, whom he described as a second mother. She died of cancer when he was in ninth grade ? weeks before he was first arrested and expelled from school for having drugs and brass knuckles, they pointed out.

After the grandmother died, he secretly got a tattoo on his back to honor her. It features a large cross and says, "In Memory of Maggie."

The accuser's father, now a police sergeant, also testified. He poignantly described the trauma the family experienced as his once-joyful, extroverted son descended into heavy drug use and suicidal behavior ? and refused to tell them what was wrong.

"That was my biggest fear, that I was going to find him dead," the sergeant said.

Clearing the FOG: More communities tackling fat, oil and grease

Chattanooga-area communities are clearing away the FOG ? fats, oils and grease ? from their sewer systems.

Jasper, Tenn., recently beefed up its regulations on how restaurants dispose of fats, oils and grease. New restaurants and some existing restaurants will need to install grease-trapping devices, sewage collection system operator Ray Moreland said.

"The state is pushing us to do it," Moreland said.

Fats, oils and grease can solidify and block municipal sewage systems.

Fort Oglethorpe Codes Enforcement Officer Jill Wynn remembers seeing that firsthand several years ago when sewers backed up in a neighborhood off Battlefield Parkway near a number of fast-food restaurants.

"It was full, completely full of grease," Wynn said. "It was hard as a rock. Stinked to high heaven. It was horrible."

Sewage overflows caused by such backups find their way into creeks, which typically results in a $1,000 fine against the city by the state.

Fort Oglethorpe City Manager Ron Goulart said restaurants' fats, oils and grease were the main offender behind sewer-line backups.

"That's probably the No. 1 killer, is grease," Goulart said.

Fort Oglethorpe restaurants were equipped with grease interceptors, underground storage tanks typically 1,000 to 1,500 gallons in size. But the interceptors weren't being cleaned out regularly and would overflow, city officials say.

So the city adopted a FOG ordinance in 2008 under which city employees regularly inspect grease interceptors and require restaurants to keep records showing that they've been cleaned out.

"We've never had to fine anyone," Wynn said.

Instead, the city's been able to keep restaurants in line by asking them to clean the traps, she said.

"The way we've handled it is [saying], 'This needs to be pumped immediately,'" she said.

Fort Oglethorpe's director of public works, Phil Parker, said the ordinance has helped reduce sewage backups.

"It has improved," he said. "We'll never get to perfect."

"If grease is something we can get a handle on, that's one less thing to cause us grief," Parker said.

Chattanooga adopted a FOG ordinance about six years ago, and now has two full-time employees whose job is to inspect grease interceptors and smaller, under-sink grease traps at some 1,200 food service facilities around the city, said sewage pretreatment supervisor Rick Tate.

"It has made a difference," Tate said. "I think most of the satellite communities have patterned their [FOG programs] after ours."

Democratic leaders in the Senate on Friday urged President Obama to consider bypassing Congress to prevent the nation from defaulting on its spending obligations if lawmakers cannot agree to raise the nation?s $16.4 trillion debt ceiling next month. In a joint letter that served as a warning to congressional Republicans, Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) and his leadership team encouraged Obama to ?take any lawful steps? to avoid default ? ?without Congressional approval, if necessary.? The letter appeared to be an effort to push the White House to play hardball

Please Mr President, stop us from having to do our jobs. We don?t want to have to cut spending like we promised we would do.

Valerie Jarrett will issue an executive order that removes the House from participating in any budget discussions. She will then grant Obama full authority to raise both the debt ceiling to $25 trillion and raise tax rates on all Americans. Sotomayor, Kagan, Breyer and Ginsburg will welcome Chief Justice Roberts to their "if it?s a tax, it?s legal" majority opinion.

This violates the Senate?s oath of office, which commits them to Constitutional actions only. Those with honor will resign, while those without honor (that is, all of them) must be impeached.

But if he tried an end run of that kind, raising a question of whether Americans continue to believe their own government is legitimate, surely there would be a downgrade anyway, and the Donks know that.

Certainly not by the Constitution if you are promoting exe-orders and unlawful use of the 14th.

And this is why Obama will do whatever he wants and get away with it. There arent enough intellectually honest democrats left to hold him responsible and impeach him.

Dewhurst suggested Friday that school districts would nominate who they want to carry weapons on campus under his plan. The training would be more extensive than what?s required for a Texas concealed handgun license and include how to react technically and emotionally in an active shooter situation. Dewhurst says the state funding needed would depend on the number of participating districts and how many people want training.

In the weeks since the Newtown shooting, the conventional wisdom has been that the country was so outraged about gun violence that the basic rules of Washington politics had been forever altered. The assumption was that a re-elected President Obama would get any sort of gun control legislation passed that he wanted and that the National Rifle Association would be powerless to stop him. Beau Baldwin knew two of his big three wide receivers would be gone after 2012. As it turns out, he'll be without the entire trio in 2013.

Record-breaking wideout Brandon Kaufman will skip his final season in Cheney and enter the NFL Draft, according to InsideTheLeague.com.

Kaufman broke the FCS single season record for receiving yards with 1,850 in Eastern Washington's run to the national semifinals. He also had 93 grabs and 16 touchdowns.

The Eags' top target has already spent four years in Cheney, having redshirted in 2011 due to injuries.

His numbers, combined with his 6-foot-5-inch, 215 pound frame are expected to make him attractive to NFL?teams this Spring.

Baldwin's other top wide receivers - Greg Herd and Nicolas Edwards - were both seniors in 2012.
