on the debt ceiling

Democratic leaders in the Senate on Friday urged President Obama to consider bypassing Congress to prevent the nation from defaulting on its spending obligations if lawmakers cannot agree to raise the nation?s $16.4 trillion debt ceiling next month. In a joint letter that served as a warning to congressional Republicans, Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) and his leadership team encouraged Obama to ?take any lawful steps? to avoid default ? ?without Congressional approval, if necessary.? The letter appeared to be an effort to push the White House to play hardball

Please Mr President, stop us from having to do our jobs. We don?t want to have to cut spending like we promised we would do.

Valerie Jarrett will issue an executive order that removes the House from participating in any budget discussions. She will then grant Obama full authority to raise both the debt ceiling to $25 trillion and raise tax rates on all Americans. Sotomayor, Kagan, Breyer and Ginsburg will welcome Chief Justice Roberts to their "if it?s a tax, it?s legal" majority opinion.

This violates the Senate?s oath of office, which commits them to Constitutional actions only. Those with honor will resign, while those without honor (that is, all of them) must be impeached.

But if he tried an end run of that kind, raising a question of whether Americans continue to believe their own government is legitimate, surely there would be a downgrade anyway, and the Donks know that.

How do you refine lawful Harry?
Certainly not by the Constitution if you are promoting exe-orders and unlawful use of the 14th.
A that exists now that keeps SS ( renamed social benefits)and medicare ( not yet ) incorporated into Barry law off the reduction table.
Of course Barry you now have an IOU ( hide attempted) to replace the 5 B you lifted from medicare and the cash swiped to give to Hamas( Palestine) muslims.

And this is why Obama will do whatever he wants and get away with it. There arent enough intellectually honest democrats left to hold him responsible and impeach him.

DALLAS ? A representative for former U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison says the Texas Republican would not consider a position in President Barack Obama?s Cabinet. Hutchison served two decades in the Senate before deciding not to seek re-election last year. She was mentioned in one report as a possible successor to Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood, also a Republican. Hutchison?s executive assistant, Melinda Poucher, said in an emailed statement Friday that Hutchison "would not consider a cabinet position of any kind."

AUSTIN, Texas ? A Texas judge refused to allow Planned Parenthood to temporarily rejoin a health program for low-income women on Friday, saying the organization would unlikely win its court fight to get around a new law that disqualifies health clinics with any affiliation to abortion providers. Planned Parenthood was one of the largest chains of health clinics in the Texas Women?s Health Program, which provides cancer screenings, contraceptives and other basic health services to more than 110,000 eligible low-income women statewide. AUSTIN, Texas ? Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst is calling for state-funded, specialized firearms training for teachers and administrators to guard against school shootings. Dewhurst suggested Friday that school districts would nominate who they want to carry weapons on campus under his plan. The training would be more extensive than what?s required for a Texas concealed handgun license and include how to react technically and emotionally in an active shooter situation. Dewhurst says the state funding needed would depend on the number of participating districts and how many people want training.

Few will be surprised by the news that David Gregory won?t be prosecuted for possessing a high-capacity magazine during his appearance on ?Meet the Press.? The decision was made by District of Columbia Attorney General Irvin Nathan, who turns out to be a social acquaintance of Gregory and his wife. The decision not to prosecute Gregory is explained in a statement you can read here. The statement makes it clear that the decision not to prosecute is an act of prosecutorial discretion. In other words, the AG had no doubt that Gregory violated the law; he simply decided

In the weeks since the Newtown shooting, the conventional wisdom has been that the country was so outraged about gun violence that the basic rules of Washington politics had been forever altered. The assumption was that a re-elected President Obama would get any sort of gun control legislation passed that he wanted and that the National Rifle Association would be powerless to stop him. But even before next Tuesday?s announcement of the recommendations made to the president by Vice President Biden, it appears as if everyone in the capital knows that it is highly unlikely

The hyperventilating over gun restrictions by the liberal media is getting absurd. On Friday, MSNBC?s David Corn appearing on Hardball actually said that conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh is "calling for John Wilkes Booth" by discussing on his program the possibility that the government in the wake of the massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, might take away people?s firearms (video follows with transcript and commentary):CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: Yesterday, Rush Limbaugh said the president cannot be stopped when it comes to getting what he wants. The world is a better place because of Hillary Rodham Clinton?s tenure as secretary of state. That?s not the question. The question is whether it is a better place because of those last 20 hours of her 80-hour work week. Or because of the extra miles she flew to distant capitals? On one trip in 2009, according to the New York Times, ?she traveled from talks with Palestinian leaders in Abu Dhabi to a midnight meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, then boarded a plane for Morocco, staying up all night to work on other issues,

President Barack Obama has signed into law a bill granting lifetime Secret Service protection to former presidents and their wives. The measure Obama signed Thursday applies to presidents elected after Jan. 1, 1997, specifically Obama and former President George W. Bush. It reverses a 1994 law that ended Secret Service protection 10 years after a president leaves office. Under that law, the Homeland Security secretary could extend such protection on a temporary basis. A sponsor of the bill, Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina, says increased terrorist threats and the greater mobility and youth of former presidents

These days, there are few things to admire about the socialist, bankrupt and culturally degenerating USA, but at least so far, one thing remains: the right to bear arms and use deadly force to defend one's self and possessions. This will probably come as a total shock to most of my Western readers, but at one point, Russia was one of the most heavily armed societies on earth. This was, of course, when we were free under the Tsar. Weapons, from swords and spears to pistols, rifles and shotguns were everywhere, common items.

When Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton leaves her post as the nation?s top diplomat this year, she will step into a new role: presidential front-runner. Clinton is the leading contender to win the presidency in 2016 should she decide to run, but New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is the one Republican with a shot at defeating her, according to a new poll. Clinton leads Christie 44-42 percent, the Public Policy Polling survey found. Clinton, 65, who was recently hospitalized with a blood clot near her brain, trounces all other GOP contenders. In early hypothetical match-ups, she leads Wisconsin

How many times have you tried to have a serious conversation about current events only to have your listeners say, "I?m not interested in politics"? These are the low-info voters that the Republicans have never been able to communicate with but the Democrats know exactly how to reach them. That is why they concentrate their connections in the mainstream media and Hollywood and why these voters know more about the Kardashians than what the fiscal cliff means to the economy or where Benghazi is. It?s also why these voters tune out boring Republicans who continue to blah, blah, blah

It?s damn time the Washington Redskins changed its racist name ... at least if the team ever plans to move inside D.C. city limits -- so says District mayor Vincent Gray. But Mayor Gray has some conditions before the Redskins move a muscle -- claiming, ?I think that if they get serious with the team coming back to Washington, there?s no doubt

The hot new video at MRCTV.org is 1995 footage of Attorney General Eric Holder, when he was the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
