News | World's 'oldest ever person' dies at the ripe old age of 132

A Georgian woman who claimed to be 132 years old has passed away, but debate continues as to whether the woman will be written into the record books.

Antisa Khvichava claimed that she was born on July 8th 1880, but her original birth certificate appears to have been destroyed during years of revolutions and civil wars.

According to The Irish Independent the woman lived in the remote Georgian village of Sachino with her 42 year-old grandson and swore by her daily glass of brandy.

Unbelievably, she retired as a tea and corn picker in 1965 when she was 85 years old with friends and family claiming that despite the lack of paperwork, the woman is in the oldest ever person.

She is just ten years younger than Russian communist leader Vladimir Lenin, was 31 when the Titanic sunk and is twice the age of US President Bill Clinton.

The current holder of the oldest person to have ever lived was French woman Jeanne Calment who was 122 years old when she died in 1997, while the oldest living person currently is Besse Cooper from Georgia ? the state this time, not the country. The American is 116 years young.

So forget your healthy eating and anti-aging products, a glass of brandy (just the one) a day should do the trick.
